Dr. Willam Garrahan


Bio: Dr. William Garrahan

Dr. Garrahan has been a well known orthopaedic surgeon in the Kent County Community for forty-seven years. He began practicing orthopaedic surgery in Rhode Island in 1960, and has been a member of the orthopaedic staff at Kent Hospital since that time. He was one of the first surgeons to perform operations such as joint replacement surgery at Kent Hospital.  

Dr. Garrahan has served as the president of the Kent County Memorial Hospital Medical Staff and is a current member of the Board of Trustees at Kent County Memorial Hospital. 

Dr. Garrahan is very active in sports medicine and is the team physician for the Community College of Rhode Island.  He has taken care of college athletes at the school since 1975. Dr. Garrahan's years of experience in treating orthopaedic injuries is unmatched. He is currently seeing patients in the office only.  

Outside of his orthopaedic practice, Dr. Garrahan competes in track and field on the world-wide scene as a Senior Olympian. He has won several olympic medals in recent years and can throw a javelin regularly at world class distances.
